The Beginning

Founded in 1996 by Jody Young

Jody Young came from Texas in 1996 with masonry in his blood. After putting down roots in the Kansas City area, he started Brick Doctor from the ground up. No shortcuts, no compromises — just work.

Masonry wasn't just a career choice; it was a craft passed down through his family across generations. Jody brought that lifelong standard to Kansas City, building a business that reflects that heritage in every single job he takes on.

Fifth Generation Masons

The Youngs are fifth generation masons. Uncles and cousins across the country share the same trade. It is not something they fell into — it is something that has defined the family for as long as anyone can remember.

Jody settled down in Kansas City and raised three sons in that same tradition. He built the company, instilled the values, and made sure the people around him understood what the work was actually supposed to look like.

Built Over Nearly Three Decades

Over the years, Brick Doctor grew into one of Kansas City's most trusted masonry companies. The work spoke for itself — chimney rebuilds, tuckpointing, brick repair, restoration work — done right and done to last.

When Jody passed, his wife held the business together until the boys were ready to take over. That continuity meant something. The standards he set didn't change. The name didn't change. The work didn't change.

Today

Cole, Dalton, and Joe

Today, Brick Doctor is run by Jody's three sons — Cole, Dalton, and Joe. They grew up in this business, wore the gear before they could spell it, and have worked alongside each other their entire lives. Cole runs operations. Dalton and Joe are in the field.

They are not employees who happened to end up in masonry. They were born into it, raised in it, and they carry it forward the same way their father did — with the same care for the craft and the same commitment to doing things right.
